The art of layered light
A room rarely feels finished with one ceiling light. Atmosphere comes from a small system of light sources working at different heights.

01
Ambient first
Create the overall brightness with soft, indirect light. Dimmers are useful because the same room needs a different mood at noon and at night.
02
Add task light
Place focused light where reading, working or dining happens. The source should help the activity without dominating the room.
03
Finish with a glow
A sculptural table lamp or low floor lamp creates visual rhythm and makes darker corners feel intentional.
